Griffin Siblings - Alabama 1936 - Colored by me

"Griffin children" of west Alabama land use demonstration project near Greensboro, Alabama. They are all third or fourth generation resulting from, it is believed, a white woman and a Black man. They are mostly white and refused to be placed with the black men or black women, but the whites will not have them. Note carefully the closeup of the four children; all are from the same family and yet differ greatly in appearance

    It must be so difficult for them to find acceptance in society
    U did such a good job at coloring, I could have never imagined its nit naturally colorful pic

Und wahrscheinlich kann ich mir gar nicht vorstellen, wie schwer es für sie war, einen Partner und Arbeit zu finden ... das Los der Geburt kann so eine entscheidende Rolle im Leben spielen, damals wie heute ...
