Nebraska Wins Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Nebraska earned the Big Ten Women's Gymnastics Championships title on Saturday, winning its second consecutive crown. The Huskers tallied a team score of 197.800 en route to the title.

BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Oklahoma Captures 2013 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship

AMES, Iowa - For the second straight season, the second-ranked Oklahoma Sooners took home the Big 12 Gymnastics Championship with a total score of 197.200 Saturday at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa.

NC State Gymnastics Wins 2013 EAGL Championship Crown

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The NC State women's gymnastics team won the 2013 East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Championship Saturday afternoon at UNC's Carmichael Arena with a score of 195.175.

ECAC DIV I CHAMPIONSHIPS
Gymnastics Wins First Ever Back-to-Back ECAC Titles

ITHACA, N.Y. – For the first time in program history, the Penn gymnastics team has won back-to-back ECAC Championships. The Quakers scored their second-highest overall score of the season on Saturday in Ithaca, N.Y. at Cornell with a 193.725, winning their fourth title in school history.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Central Michigan maintained its reign at the pinnacle of MAC gymnastics on Saturday afternoon, winning a share of its fourth consecutive conference crown at the 2013 MAC Championships.

SHREVEPORT, La. - The UIC women's gymnastics team recorded a season-high 195.600 and placed first at the Midwest Independence Conference meet Saturday in Shreveport, La.

UC Davis Wins Fourth Straight MPSF Title

SEATTLE - Senior Michelle Ho captured three individual championships while senior Katie Yamamura and junior Anna Shumaker claimed the top two spots in the all-around, helping UC Davis snare a fourth consecutive team title at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's gymnastics championships.

Oregon State captures 2013 Pac-12 gymnastics crown

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State claimed the Pac-12 women's gymnastics championship for this second time in three years, this time in front of a home crowd of 3,022 at Oregon State's Gill Coliseum.

SEC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Florida Wins 2013 SEC Gymnastics Championship

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - No. 1 Florida claimed its second consecutive Southeastern Conference Gymnastics Championship on Saturday with a final score of 198.000 at Verizon Arena, becoming the first league team to capture back-to-back crowns since Georgia won three-in-a-row from 2004-06.

Nastia Liukin Cup Series 2013



INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 9, 2013 – The Nastia Liukin Cup Series will kick off its fourth consecutive year this weekend on Jan. 11 with the Circle of Stars Invitational in Indianapolis and the Atlanta Crown Invitational in Atlanta. The invitational meets in the Series will determine the gymnasts who will compete in the 2013 Nastia Liukin Cup at the DCU Center on March 1 in Worcester, Mass., the night before the 2013 American Cup, one of the world's most prestigious international invitationals and an International Gymnastics Federation's World Cup event.
The Nastia Liukin Cup Series features 19 of the top gymnastics invitational meets held throughout the United States from mid-January through late February 2013. A designated number of gymnasts from each invitational will advance to the Nastia Liukin Cup.
"It is such an honor to continue my partnership with USA Gymnastics and be able to provide young girls with this unique and exciting opportunity," said Liukin, the 2008 Olympic all-around champion and winner of nine World Championships medals. "I look forward to another year of great competition, and I hope to help inspire these gymnasts to achieve their dreams."

Gymnasts who compete in the Nastia Liukin Cup will receive a Nastia Liukin-designed leotard and a warm-up from GK Elite; two tickets to the American Cup and recognition during the event; and the opportunity to meet Liukin and participate in a team photo.
A portion of the proceeds from the Nastia Liukin Cup benefits the Nastia Liukin Fund, a charitable fund in partnership with the National Gymnastics Foundation (www.usagym.org/foundation).
Background information
  • Nastia Liukin. At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Liukin's total of five medals tied the U.S. gymnastics record for most medals in one Olympic Games, held by Mary Lou Retton (1984) and Shannon Miller (1992). Liukin's Olympic medals are: gold – all-around; silver – team, balance beam and uneven bars; and bronze – floor exercise. Liukin is just the third U.S. woman to win the Olympic all-around crown. She also won nine World medals in her career. Liukin has graced many magazine covers and appeared on various shows, including "Gossip Girl," "Make It or Break it," and the feature film, "Stick It." She was also chosen as one of 2009's most influential women by MSN Lifestyle. Liukin recently returned to training with an eye on the 2012 Olympic Games in London. Coached by her father, Valeri, who has four Olympic medals from 1988 including two gold, she was added to the 2011-12 Women's National Team in November 2011.
  • American Cup. The 2013 American Cup, an FIG World Cup event, is one of the most prestigious international invitational events and features an all-around format. The list of former champions comprises some of the sport's best-known names, including Jordyn Wieber, Nastia Liukin, Jonathan Horton, Bart Conner, Paul Hamm, Shawn Johnson, Shannon Miller, Carly Patterson, Mary Lou Retton and Peter Vidmar.
