Olympic Team gold medalist Jordyn Wieber will be on hand in Oklahoma this week when she's awarded the first ever Nadia Comaneci Sportsmanship Award by the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
The award, named after the famous Romanian gold medalist best known for her prefect 10 on the bars at the 1976 Olympic Games, is given to an active or retired gymnast "who has demonstrated great sportsmanship or fair play."
Comaneci said she was happy to present the inaugural award to Jordyn because, as the reigning world champion, "she showed great sportsmanship by overcoming her personal disappointment to help lead the U.S. Women's Team to the gold medal," after failing to make the all-around finals in London.
Gymnastics legends Gina Gogean of Romania, Albert Azaryan of Armenia, and Yuri Korolev and Lyubov Burda of Russia will also be inducted as part of the Hall's 2013 class.
