Alabama wins sixth NCAA Championship

In a close battle for first, Alabama won the team crown with a 197.850 total. Florida and UCLA were close on the Crimson Tide's heels with 197.775 and 197.750, respectively. The title was determined with the last two routines, Florida on floor and Alabama on beam. All-around champion Kytra Hunter was the last gymnast on floor for the Gators doing a double layout and sticking all of her landings to score a 9.925. While on beam, Priess was the last competitor for Alabama hitting a beautiful beam routine and scoring a 9.95 to clinch the title. UCLA was on a bye and waiting for Florida and Alabama to finish the competition.
Rounding out the six teams were Stanford (197.500), Utah (197.375) and Arkansas (196.300).
Alabama posted the top team marks for vault (49.625), beam (49.500) and floor (49.50). UCLA had the high score on bars (49.475).
The University of Alabama team includes: Kaitlin Clark, Sarah DeMeo, Marissa Gutierrez, Kim Jacob, Diandra Milliner, Ashley Priess, Ashley Sledge, Geralen Stack-Eaton and Kayla Williams. University of Florida team includes all-around champion Kytra Hunter, Mackenzie Caquatto, Ashanee Dickerson, Nicole Ellis, Amy Ferguson, Alaina Johnson, Marissa King, Rachel Spicer, Randy Stageberg and Kiersten Wang.
Competing for UCLA were: Kaelie Baer, Olivia Courtney, Monique De La Torre, Tauny Frattone, Aisha Gerber, Elise Hopfner-Hibbs, Mattie Larson, Samantha Peszek, Alyssa Pritchett, and Vanessa Zamarripa.
