"Gym Mom" Takes Readers Inside World of Gymnastics

INDIANAPOLIS, June 25, 2012 – Rita Wieber, mother of 2011 World all-around champion and two-time U.S. champion Jordyn Wieber, announced the release of her new book, "Gym Mom: The Twists and Turns of your Daughter's Gymnastics Career."
The book, which is available for purchase at GymMom.net, sells for $19.95 and will also be available at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials – Gymnastics, scheduled for June 28-July 1 in San Jose, Calif., and during the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.
Wieber, a long-time freelance writer, recounts what she's learned about the ins and outs of women's artistic gymnastics. From recreational and competitive gymnastics, dealing with coaches and competitive parents to preventing and treating injuries, sports psychology, nutrition and college recruiting – "Gym Mom" covers it all.
"Gym Mom" also includes interviews with experts such as sports medicine physician Dr. Larry Nassar; nationally known sports psychologist Dr. Alison Arnold; registered dietician Louise Whitney; and UCLA women's gymnastics head coach Valorie Kondos-Field providing straightforward and useful information. Wieber's use of humor and self-revealing anecdotes make this book as fun to read as it is worthwhile.
